The Portland metropolitan area, which also includes the city of Vancouver, Washington, to the north, ranks the 23rd largest metro area in the nation, with a population of 2,389,228. The top ten cities are Salem, Eugene, Gresham, Hillsboro, Beaverton, Bend, Medford, Springfield and Corvallis. As of 2015, Oregon ranks as the 17th highest in median household income at $60,834. Oregon has it’s home based chains (ex Minute Mart, Dari Mart, Space Age, Plaid Pantry), it’s own regional distribution (ex Harbor) and a number of stores based in other states (Jackson’s, USA, Petro/TA, Good2Go,, Maverik, AM PM and others).
